The world we live in is a sad place. A place where innocent people are getting harmed. A place where innocent peoples lives and property is being damaged and lost for a cause they might not even take a stance on. The world is a scary place when you don’t know what to expect anymore when you walk out your door.
As if covid-19 hasn’t created enough chaos and uncertainty now the recent protests have caused even more. I found myself so nervous of everyone’s reactions at the store the other day. I was fearful of anything and everything that could cause someone to become disgruntled and cause a scene. It’s a shame you can’t just trust going out in public would be semi normal anymore... I feel robbed of my security and safety. I am disappointed that this is what we have come to. I am saddened to know what is next!
How do you explain this to children? How do we tell people in the future about this? What would you say? How would you describe this? What do you feel about this? How does it affect you? What do you see around you? How is your community effected by it? What will you do to make a change? what change do you want to see? What will be the straw that broke the camels back? What’s the breaking or the turning point in this unfortunate situation? How do we help? What can we do different? There’s so many unanswered questions. There’s so much confusion and misinterpretation. Why this? Why now?
Why?
As you begin your day think about what we as an individual can do better. How this can be different and how we personally can make a change. If you don’t know where to start..... start with just being nice!! Say hello to a random stranger, pick up a piece of trash, hold a door for someone, give someone a compliment. There’s countless random acts of kindness that do not cost you a dime. Be the change you wish to see! Love one another. Remember we don’t know what goes on in there shoes.
Spread love, not hate!!
The best is yet to come!!
